In this job, you''ll be responsible for supporting projects through design and construction for customers through the Charge Ready program. As the Electric Vehicle (EV) market continues to grow, light duty vehicle customers continue to increase their footprint by requesting new services or expansion of their existing services and require customer focus and support of their projects. Transportation Electrification (TE) is a critical strategic initiative for SCE and we are taking a leading role to ensure that TE plays a major part in the reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) and criteria pollutant emissions in California. In addition to cleaning and modernizing the grid, SCE is offering programs to support charger availability, make electric fueling more affordable and increase awareness of the benefits of electric transportation. As a Senior Specialist - Transportation Electrification, your work will help power our planet, reduce carbon emissions and create cleaner air for everyone. Are you ready to take on the challenge to help us build the future? A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright! Supports electric vehicle projects for Charge Ready customers through the project management life cycle model, including the customer site assessment, design, and construction beyond the meter. While the position is classified as remote, it will require travel to customer sites throughout the entire SCE service territory. Completes the following tasks at the direction of the Project Manager: Engage Customers Desktop Site feasibility studies Site assessments and additional site visits Site Design Coordinates field meets with architectural and engineering firms Easement requests and reviews of completed easements Permitting & traffic control requests and reviews of completed permits Construction Scheduling, both SCE crews and general contractors Additional field verifications and progress reports Budget Assist with work order closure and resolving inactivity Program Reporting and Forecasting Provides project updates for database and support reporting efforts as required Report out on project status at team meetings Internal / External Stakeholder education and outreach Discuss upcoming work with Planning/Regions/Districts QualificationsThe essentials Five years of project management and/or project support experience. The preferred Experience with service planning principles, overhead/underground construction standards, and distribution design standards. Experience managing small to medium projects, including identifying, maintaining, and/or adjusting the cost, scope, and resources, managing vendors, and leading the formal planning, tracking, and reporting of project performance. Ability to accomplish results through matrixed teams consisting primarily of professionals and/or vendors who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments. Experience exercising latitude and judgement in developing plans, budgets, and resources, directing activities and actions, and determining deliverables. Experience developing and recommending course of action on moderately complex projects in conjunction with the Project Manager. Experience directly involved in tasks necessary for project execution. Experience identifying problems and solutions and providing input to project objectives, timelines, risks, milestones, deliverables, and budgets. Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, and Project. You should know This position''s work mode is Remote. Employee is able to work primarily at home or remote however, the employee may be expected to come to an SCE facility on occasion.
