Assists the Safety Manager in the implementation and execution of the training program requirements and development of appropriate local safety initiative for accident and injury prevention. Responsible for the overall training function at the location, including driver assessment, classroom / BTW training, incident, accident, drive Cam / Mobileye retraining for TCRTA.Responsibilities:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Schedules and presents training programs. Conducts monthly employee/driver safety meetings.
  • Ensures that all reporting and training curriculum tools are up-to-date and correct at all times
    • Facilitate classroom instruction for new hires
    • Must be able to obtain a TSI Instructor Certification
    • Ensure all accident / incident / Drive Cam, and Mobileye infractions/violations are appropriately coached, retrained and documented.
    • Must obtain a DMV Employer Testing Program (ETP) Examiner Certification within the first 12 months
    • Act in the capacity as a Road Supervisor when needed
    • Maintain and organize safety and training records for file and audit compliance
    • Act as designee in the absence of the Safety and Training Manager
    • Conduct ride-a-long and trail checks
    • Complete 30-60-90-day assessments on new hires
      • Maintains confidentiality of all information
      • Other duties as required.Qualifications:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

        Education, Licensing, and Certifications:

        Education:
        • High school diploma or equivalent, such as GED,
        • Must possess a class B Commercial Driver's License with Passenger endorsement.
          Experience:
          • 5 years or more experience in transit and/or safety & training.
            Skills and Knowledge Required:
            • Thorough knowledge and understanding of Department of Transportation, Federal Motor Carrier, Transit Security Administration, and Federal Transportation Administration rules and regulations.
            • Injury / collision prevention practices & techniques.
            • Ability to interpret and explain regulations to others.
            • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
            • Strong written and oral communication skills; excellent presentation skills.
            • Travel requirement to other TCRTA properties (as a needed)
              Pre-Employment Requirements:
              • Drug testing and Employment Verification and Criminal background check
              • Testing related to job requirements
