must be able to circulate for C-sections - Experience in both Labor
and Delivery and Postpartum Description: Registered Nurses will be
responsible for delivering care in a Labor and Delivery setting.
Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor
and Delivery and Postpartum. Floating between Labor and Delivery
and Postpartum is required, experience in both areas is essential.
The unit consists of 9 Labor and Delivery beds and 4 Postpartum
beds, accommodating approximately 55 births monthly. Candidates
must be able to follow AWHONN guidelines for nurse-to-patient
ratios. Knowledge of fetal monitoring systems is necessary. The
electronic medical record system used is Cerner. Charge nurses do
not take patient assignments. Registered Nurses will work 12-hour
shifts from 6 PM to 6 AM, every other weekend. While there is no
call requirement, nurses will be expected to work holidays in
rotation with permanent staff. Common patient diagnoses include
high-risk deliveries and patients 34 weeks and above. Birth plans
are significant and adhered to by most of the patient population.
An OB technician is available on each shift. Respiratory therapy is
available 24/7, while pharmacy services are limited to regular
hours after 10 PM. Candidates must possess strong communication and
assessment skills. Teamwork and the ability to follow protocols are
crucial for success in this position. Requirements Required for
