Job Description:

This family style company is currently looking for a Safety and Health Manager in their California location! You will have oversight of four locations.Responsibilities Include

• Understand safety and health regulations including OSHA, DOT, etc.
• Liaise with Federal/State/County regulatory agencies when needed
• Assist in the development of new company injury and illness prevention programs
• Work with plant and transportation management and front line employees to develop strategies to sustain current injury and illness programs
• Coordinate safety training program over four sites
• Orchestrate dairy assessment program through on-site assessments, hazard identification, and corrective action
• Assign risk assessment codes to all identified hazards and oversee corrective action completion
• Travel between Region locations on a routine basis
• Regularly communicate and meet with corporate, regional, plant and transportation management
• Teach safety program concepts and elements to all leadership levelsRequirements
  • 8+ years experience with Safety and Health program management in a manufacturing environment
  • 3 years in a Manager role with demonstrated leadership experience
  • Agriculture based experience preferred
  • College degree preferred
  • Ability to travel overnight
  • Ability to work in high noise environments
  • Computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
