to Electric Asset Management (EAM). We are responsible for electric
system asset strategy, standards and procedures and risk management
across Transmission, Distribution, and Substation asset families.
Within EAM, the Distribution group delivers risk?informed strategic
planning and uses inspection insights and asset data to drive
informed maintenance and investment decisions. The Distribution
Asset Risk Management (ARM) team—comprising Asset Failure Analysis
(AFA), Asset Insights, and Inspections & Maintenance Strategy
(I&M)—focuses on developing and continuously improving how
PG&E monitors and maintains its assets to support a resilient,
reliable grid and helps keep our communities safe. Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of ARM, the Principal Program Manager
will drive continuous improvement of ARM tools, processes, and
technologies. This role collaborates extensively across the company
and with external partners to evaluate new technologies, enhance
operational efficiency, and integrate next?generation solutions
into I&M’s core workflows. The ideal candidate is a data?savvy
leader who thrives in fast?paced environments and seeks to make a
meaningful impact on grid safety, resilience, and customer service.
The I&M team plays a critical role in managing over 2.3 million
distribution wood poles and 80,000 circuit miles of primary
conductor. We are continually improving on inspection procedures
based on testing insights, failure analysis, and SME input. The
successful candidate will serve as a strategic integrator and
technology champion to deliver several transformative initiatives.
Asset Health Monitoring Technology Enablement: With the development
of innovative new sensors and A.I./LLMs, we are reimagining the
traditional maintenance approach and assessing opportunities to
implement additional touchpoints and/or “continuous monitoring” on
some of our assets to reduce failures and safely extend life, and
to redeploy O&M resources to more surgically target known risk.
You will work with PG&E’s various teams and 3rd party vendors
to evaluate new technologies and then lead the strategic
development and integration Reimagining Asset Maintenance: Improve
prioritization and bundling of maintenance work to maximize risk
reduction per dollar; evaluate and deliver on technology solutions
to improve program efficacy Drone based GO165 Certification:
Support execution of the most comprehensive study of drone based
aerial inspection (vs ground) every in the utility sector, with the
intention to approve drone-based data collection to meet criteria
of GO165 detailed inspections. We will need to closely monitor
effectiveness for implementation of this new technology Asset
Knowledge Product Development: Liaise with the Data Management &
Analytics team to guide development and adoption of analytics tools
and data visualization products Propel Integration: Partner with
the enterprise Propel program that is rebuilding PG&E’s backend
data infrastructure. Ensure today’s key pain points are addressed
in the build and lead system adoption and integration This position
is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work
location based on business need. The assigned work location will be
within the PG&E Service Territory. PG&E is providing the
salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay
for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation
range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary
paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including,
but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or
certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and
internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate
hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry
point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case
basis related to these factors.? A reasonable salary range is:? Bay
Area Minimum: $?140,000 Bay Area Maximum: $?238,000 &/OR?
California Minimum: $?133,000 California Maximum: $226,000 Job
Responsibilities Develop and maintain strong working relationships
with all strategic programs and partners, external and internal
(Data Management & Analytics, Risk and Data Analytics, Continuous
Monitoring, Remote Sensing PMO, Grid Innovation R&D, etc)
Report-outs to leaders in EAM in WORs and MORs, and as needed to
the Executive Leadership Team (ELT). Performs or leads feasibility
analysis, business case development, develop project scope, and
provide recommendations on the alternative solutions, project
strategy and deliverable prioritization. Collaborates with Electric
leadership on asset data management issues and initiatives.
Recognized subject matter expert who represents PG&E in
regulatory and/or industry forums on subject of expertise. Coaches
and mentors less experienced employees Solves unique and complex
problems, anticipating issues and developing innovative solutions.
Demonstrates strategic leadership with internal stakeholders to
support Company goals. Leads development of program goals and
metrics to meet company goals and objectives. Collaborates across
organization to ensure alignment of goals to support program.
Organize and lead cross-utility project teams to influence utility,
regulatory and/or industry decisions. Develops or provides
significant input to PG&E leadership, other utilities with
similar programs, industry and/or regulatory decision makers to
influence market place and regulatory strategies impacting PG&E
and its customers. Qualifications: Minimum: Bachelor’s degree or
equivalent experience. 10 years of related experience or equivalent
Desired: Master’s in Business Administration or other Advanced
Degree Ability to comprehend complex systems and data
infrastructure to help drive strategic decision making, and to
recommend operational improvements Experience in working in large
datasets, understanding the management or training in a.i. and/or
large language models Experience in Geographic Information Systems
(GIS) analytics Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
Highly skilled at leading cross-functional project teams.
Experience leading cross cutting programs and/or technology
deployments Travel may be required In depth knowledge of energy
and/or electric utility industry processes, regulatory
requirements, critical success factors, goals and initiatives.
Ability to lead large and complex projects working with
cross-functional teams
